Pakistan defeated the Netherlands by 81 runs in their opening game of the ICC Cricket World Cup 2023. The Dutch squad fought hard, making it a close battle.
For Pakistan, a bowler by the name of Haris Rauf grabbed three wickets, aiding in the Netherlands’ dismissal for a total of 205 runs. However, Pakistan had it tough against the Dutch team, who were led by Bas de Leede, who scored 67 runs and claimed four wickets.
The opening batsman for the Dutch squad, Vikramjit Singh, made 52 runs and shared a partnership of 70 runs with De Leede that almost cost Pakistan the game.
In the end, six important wickets taken by Pakistan’s fast bowlers, notably Rauf, Hasan Ali, and Shaheen Shah Afridi, helped their team win. Additionally, Shadab Khan, Iftikhar Ahmed, and Mohammad Nawaz, three of Pakistan’s spinners, each claimed one wicket.
