No Longer Dependent on Babar Azam and Sunil Gavaskar

At the Rajiv Gandhi International Stadium in Hyderabad, Pakistan successfully chased down a 345-run mark for Sri Lanka in an unprecedented run chase.

Sunil Gavaskar, a former Indian cricketer, praised Mohammad Rizwan and Abdullah Shafique for their hundreds.

Gavaskar underlined that Pakistan’s performance is encouraging since it lessens their reliance on Babar Azam, who had two underwhelming tournament performances.

“It’s a big challenge when you’re chasing 350 runs. They lost early wickets in the game as well. Rizwan’s abilities are something we are most familiar with, but Abdullah Shafique played like a pro. He anchoring the innings with Rizwan was impressive, said to Gavaskar.
