Khyber Pakhtunkhwa’s Senior Superintendent of Police Sonia Shamrooz Khan has been nominated by the International Association of Women Police (IAWP) for the prestigious “Police Officer of the Year” award. In the sixty-year history of the organization, SSP Sonia would be the second Muslim woman and the first Asian woman to ever win this prestigious prize.
This medal is given in recognition of her outstanding achievements to law enforcement and her significant work reducing violence against women.
The International Association of Women Police is an international group that works to advance the status, solidarity, and visibility of women worldwide in the criminal justice system.
