Zaka Ashraf gives each member of Pakistan’s blind cricket team Rs. 300,000

The Pakistan Blind Cricket team and their officials were honored at a special event on Friday at Lahore’s Gaddaf Stadium by Zaka Ashraf, the chairman of the PCB’s Management Committee. This occasion honored the team’s outstanding accomplishment of taking home the gold medal in the Birmingham-hosted 2023 World Games of the International Blind Sports Federation (IBSA).

During the IBSA World Games, the Pakistan Blind Cricket Team displayed incredible talent and tenacity. They defeated India twice during the competition to win the title. They maintained their perfect record in the T20 format, defeating opponents like India, Bangladesh, Australia, and England. On August 26, 2023, they defeated India with a convincing eight-wicket win to win the gold medal.

The blind cricketers and authorities received accolades from Chairman Zaka Ashraf for their perseverance and capacity to overcome obstacles. He presented a Rs. 300,000 check to each player and official to express his gratitude and support for their commitment to the game.
