Today is the 58th anniversary of Major Aziz Bhatti, the recipient of the Nishan-e-Haider.

Pakistan respectfully commemorates today as the 58th anniversary of the selfless act of Major Raja Aziz Bhatti, a brave national hero who gave his life on September 12, 1965.

Major Bhatti, who was born in Hong Kong in 1928, moved to Pakistan before that country gained its independence in 1947, settling in the village of Ladian, in the Gujrat district. He devoted his life to the Pakistani Army, which had just been established, and was commissioned into the Punjab Regiment in 1950.

Major Raja Aziz Bhatti Shaheed is honored on this anniversary by the Pakistani Armed Forces, the Chairman Joint Chiefs of Staff Committee (CJCSC), and the Services Chiefs. For his outstanding bravery in the 1965 War, he was awarded the highest military decoration, the Nishan-e-Haider, posthumously.

A shining example of bravery and selflessness, Major Raja Aziz Bhatti Shaheed’s unrelenting defense of the country in the face of the enemy serves to remind us of the ultimate sacrifice he made to protect our homeland.

As we remember his extraordinary bravery and dedication to the nation on this tragic anniversary, his legacy continues to motivate future generations of Pakistanis.
