Rejecting the allegation that he pressured Shaheen Afridi to run for Pakistani captaincy

Shahid Afridi, a former captain of the Pakistan cricket team, has vehemently refuted recent accusations by a local media outlet that he is endorsing Shaheen Afridi for the position of team captain. Afridi recently voiced his dissatisfaction with the propagation of incorrect information in an interview.

Shaheen Afridi might captain the squad more effectively than Babar Azam, according to a news article that Afridi stumbled across while browsing through his Twitter page. They even stated Lahore Qalandars winning a PSL trophy while he was their captain,” Afridi added, laughing off the false claims.

The former all-rounder expressed his perplexity and displeasure with the way that some words are being misrepresented in the media. “Even though I express my ideas, I don’t understand why they are attributing such things to me. I offer my point of view, but others give it their own interpretation. In actuality, I dissuade Shaheen from assuming the skipper role,” he added.

It’s crucial to note that certain local media outlets have speculated that Shaheen Afridi would be selected to replace Shadab Khan as the vice-captain of the ODI and T20I squads. The Pakistan Cricket Board (PCB), though, has not made any public statements on this issue.
