According to statistics provided by the All Pakistan Textile Mills Association (APTMA), textile exports decreased by 6% YoY in August 2023, falling to $1.48 billion from $1.58 billion in August 2022.
When compared to the $1.31 billion reported in the prior month, however, textile exports actually rose by 12.9% month over month. Since September 2022, when they hit $1.53 billion, textile exports have risen to their greatest level to date.
The overall value of textile exports for the first eight months of the year (8MCY23) was $10.58 billion, a 19% YoY decline from the $13 billion in the same period in 8MCY22.
It’s important to note that Pakistan’s total exports grew to $2.26 billion in August 2023, up 14.27% from July 2023. However, figures from the Pakistan Bureau of Statistics (PBS) released on September 1 showed that exports decreased by 4.83% YoY when compared to August 2022.
