Indian Team Won Rs. 5.9 Billion in Prize Money for Winning Asia Cup

In the Asia Cup 2023 championship match versus Sri Lanka, the Indian cricket team displayed a commanding performance to secure a thumping 10-wicket victory. Their greatest lopsided victory in a One-Day International (ODI) game came from this stunning victory.

The Indian team, captained by Rohit Sharma, won the Asia Cup for the seventh time and took home a substantial prize of USD 150,000(5.9 crore).

Rohit Sharma’s success of participating in his 250th Asia Cup match, India’s dominance in the Asia Cup 2023 Super 4s table, and their impending challenge in a three-match ODI series against Australia following the Asia Cup are three important takeaways from the Asia Cup 2023 final.

Several prizes and accolades were given out in honor of great performances during the Asia Cup 2023 final. For his outstanding catch of Sri Lankan batter Pathum Nissanka, Ravindra Jadeja won a medal of USD 3,000. Indian spinner Mohammed Siraj, who finished with figures of 6/21, was named Player of the Match and received a prize of USD 5,000.

Kuldeep Yadav received a reward of $15,000 after being named the Player of the Series. The runners-up, Sri Lanka, got a monetary reward of $50,000, which they kindly gave to the R Premadasa Stadium’s grounds crew.

The winning Indian cricket team received a prize check for $150,000 USD in appreciation for their exceptional performance. In addition, the Asian Cricket Council generously awarded the R Premadasa Stadium grounds crew with a prize of USD 50,000 as a thank you for their labor during the Asia Cup 2023.

As they go ready for their opening encounter against Australia on October 8, India’s decisive victory in the Asia Cup sends a clear message to the other countries competing in the forthcoming ODI World Cup.
