Mohammad Asif, a 40-year-old former fast bowler for Pakistan, recently participated in a discussion on a website resembling Twitter Spaces. In this conversation, he spoke some unexpected things about cricket.
Asif spoke about several facets of the Pakistan cricket team and offered his opinions on the lineup for the 2023 World Cup. He mentioned that during the trials, he helped choose Pakistan’s captain, Babar Azam. He did, however, also critique Azam’s performance in T20I matches’ powerplay innings. Asif asserted that he could bowl an over to Azam even today without giving up any runs. This brought to light Azam’s challenges in dealing with high-quality deliveries.
