The registration deadlines for those wishing to attend the Islamic pilgrimage of Haj in 2024 have been issued by the UAE. The General Authority of Islamic Affairs and Endowments has stated that from December 5 to December 21, pilgrims may register using its mobile app.
The first batch of pilgrims is anticipated to arrive in Saudi Arabia in May of the upcoming year, when they will be welcomed to the holiest places in Islam in June. Typically, pilgrims travel through licensed tour companies; a list of these companies can be found on the website of the General Authority of Islamic Affairs and Endowments. These providers provide all-inclusive Haj packages that include meals, lodging, transportation, and visa costs.
First time since the start of the Covid-19 outbreak, the Haj pilgrimage returned to its full capacity last year. With the lifting of all Covid-related restrictions, Saudi Arabia welcomed almost 2 million pilgrims in 2023, a major increase from the 900,000 in the previous year.
One of Islam’s five pillars, the Haj, requires all Muslims to make the journey at least once while they are physically and financially able.
