Baber Azam Dismissed “War of Words” Reports, Saying “Players Love Each Other Like a Family”

Babar Azam, the captain of Pakistan, addressed rumors of an alleged “war of words” with fast bowler Shaheen Afridi during the conference in Lahore for the ICC World Cup 2023 in India. Shaheen Afridi is respected by the entire team, according to Babar, who also emphasized the close relationship they have.

He also made the comment that Iftikhar Ahmed thinks of him as an older brother, highlighting the comradery within the group. He wanted everyone to know there wasn’t any actual hostility between him and Shaheen Afridi.

Babar Azam stated that it’s normal for disputes to come up during team meetings following fiercely contested games. He emphasized, though, that these conflicts shouldn’t be exaggerated. Babar wanted to reassure everyone that he and Shaheen Afridi didn’t actually have a problem. He underlined that they still had a strong affinity and respect for one another, much like a family. In fact, he said, their bond is based on concern and support for one another.

Babar’s words reveal his leadership abilities and his commitment to sustain a positive team dynamic. Pakistan’s cricket team is in a fantastic position to perform admirably at the World Cup because to their strong camaraderie.
